Leroy A. Chappelle was born March 22, 1921, in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his early religious training at the Temple Church of Christ in St. Louis, MO, under the leadership of the late Bishop Austin Layne.
He was baptized in Jesus' name by the late Bishop P.L. Scott, at the Lively Stone Church of God in St. Louis.
In 1951 Dr. Chappelle received the gift of the Holy Ghost at Apostolic Faith Home Assembly in Los Angeles, CA pastored by the late Bishop Frank R. Bowdan.
During the August 1963 convention of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, in Los Angeles, Leroy A. Chappelle was ordained into the gospel ministry. He has since been elevated by the PAW to the position of District Elder.
Dr. Chappelle is a former teacher of the Aenon Bible School-West Coast. He is founder and pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith. He is founder and President of the Berea Bible Institute. He has authored several books, tracts and songs.
